British artist Michael Alford is a figurative painter best known for his sensitive evocations of contemporary life.

Taking the human form as its central subject, Michael's varied body of work includes portraits, nudes and groups of figures. His acclaimed land- and cityscapes provide a context for exploring the way figures interact with natural and manmade environments.

Michael's paintings are widely collected. He is regularly commissioned as a portraitist of solo subjects and groups. In 2010, he served as an official war artist with 1st Battalion the Grenadier Guards in Afghanistan.
