Highwood Consultants

Highwood Consultants, a specialist manufacturer of synthetic plastic wood profiles, is a privately owned company with its head office, manufacturing plant and GPPS processing facility in Runcorn, Cheshire.

The company was originally founded during the 1980s by Ross Cooper, who was the  founder and originator for the manufacture of Synthetic Timber profile which is produced using extruded Polystyrene in the form of  Structural Styrene Foam.

Ross had been the majority shareholder until July 2004 when he sold most of his shares to the Hargreaves family who are still the major shareholders and who are better known generally for the successful Matalan chain of retailing outlets which operate widely across the UK.

Currently the company has an annual production capacity of around 2,000 metric tonnes of profile. This capacity can be readily increased further on a more global scale with additional lines located either here in the UK or through a licence/facilities management arrangement in other areas around the world.
