Powell Dobson Architects
First established in 1966 the Practice became a limited company, PDP Architects Limited, in October 2000 and trades as Powell Dobson Architects since rebranding in March 2004.
It is headed by 13 directors, Howard Wainwright, Tim Percival, Graham Davis, Jeff Tucker, David Lumley, Ann-Marie Smale, Ian Norman, Mike Thomas, Andrew Nixon, Andrew Cross, Bernadette Kinsella, Ian Howells and Velta Kimber.
Powell Dobson Urbanists was established in 2005, managed by a new Director, Martin Sullivan. This adds a further important dimension to the expertise available within Powell Dobson.
Now in its fifth decade, the Practice has developed, within its organisation, such disciplines as Urban Design and Interior Design to complement its already established and recognised architectural skills. In addition, our Planning Supervisory Department has enabled us to advise on the Health and Safety Audit of building design and construction.
Powell Dobson Team Structures
The Practice operates on a Team basis, offering a network of support to projects with a group of specialist architects and technologists. Each commission is managed, with day-to-day involvement, by a Director with the commitment of the design skills and delivery expertise appropriate to the project.
The Team Structure is flexible and able to react to the demands of the varied and broad spectrum of commissions, in both scale and complexity. The core philosophy of identifying a collective responsibility for Projects reinforces the need for the support Team Structure approach.
