From fishing nets in the 1950's to becoming the leading UK sports manufacturer with equipment in the most prestigious venues in the country, Harrod UK could never have predicted hitting the back of the net when it expanded its manufacturing excellence to form Harrod Horticultural in 2000. At the heart of the range are innovative products that are designed and manufactured by Harrod Horticultural at their site in Lowestoft, Suffolk, using 65+ years of experience. These include structures for the kitchen and ornamental gardens that are renowned for striking the ideal balance between decoration and functionality, providing inspiration to gardens all around the world.

Harrod Horticultural have an enviable reputation for new product design, regularly bringing innovative and stylish new garden structures and products to market. Commitment to new product design led to the recent investment in the brand new, state of the art Harrod Innovation Centre. This stunning new facility incorporates a purpose built design studio with the latest CAD packages and 3D printing for rapid prototyping. Alongside the design studio the large research and development workshop now gives us the opportunity to assemble large products on site for testing and review. 

The Harrod Horticultural trade department was set up to serve the trade side of the gardening industry with the same exceptional level of customer service and advice on the range of products as the mail order side of the business – along with the added benefits of a trade discount, advice and consultancy, samples and CAD drawings and a one to one link with the design team for bespoke product quotations.

The trade division is set up to be as flexible as possible and fit around your needs as the designer or landscaper, there as much or as little as you need them to be involved – whether it be a one off order placed over the phone by card using the trade discount or site visits, advice, bespoke design and a credit account facility. The one on one service also enables you to programme deliveries in accordance with site works as the majority of deliveries are made by their own vehicles.

Alongside exhibiting at RHS Chelsea each year, the trade division also privdes the opportunity to showcase a range of products and services in front of trade bodies such as BALI (British Associated Landscape Industries) and The SGD (Society of Garden Designers). Harrod Horticultural is a BALI AFFILIATE Exceptional Service Award Winner 2014, 2015 and 2016 and Principle Award Winner in 2018. They also sponsored the Judges Award at the 2020 SGD Awards ceremony and they were awarded the Gold Investors in People Award.

The superior products are made in the UK and the majority are endorsed by the RHS. The award winning and diverse collection of products includes arches, pergolas, fruit cages, handcrafted steel garden furniture, obelisks, estate fencing and gates, wooden and metal raised beds and bespoke planters along with landscape beds – all of which suit both traditional and contemporary gardens.
