Haysom Purbeck Stone
Trading since 1918 under three generations of the Lander family, the masonry works is now under Haysom management.
A large new workshop has been constructed on the site and has been equipped with new, state of the art machinery: a two metre primary circular saw, a secondary saw, a texturing machine, a polishing machine and a lathe.
Each bed of Purbeck stone is a different colour ranging from grey/blue to cream/beige. All beds are of good quality crystalline limestone laid down in the Jurassic/Cretaceous era and each layer is unique in its fossil content.
It makes excellent building stone and internal and external paving. It is highly sought after in polished form for cladding, hearths, mantels and vanity/worktops. It is also popular for all aspects of landscaping.
