Searchlight was founded in 1945 and remains a family owned business now into its third generation. The company are based in Manchester in a purpose built 120,000 sq ft distribution centre, incorporating a 16,000 sq ft uniquely designed showroom, a fully equipped 95,000 sq ft warehouse and an open-plan sales / administration suite.

Searchlight now employ in excess of 200 people and sell to over 750 independent and well known high street store groups in the UK servicing the decorative, hotel, contract and residential lighting markets.

Illuma, a leading company within the display, architectural and lighting sector is part of the Searchlight Group. Illuma is a totally autonomous but complementary company uniquely placed to meet the needs of its industry.

The company also have a joint venture with a Chinese manufacturer which means their products are now sold under the ‘Searchlight’ brand worldwide.
