The British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA) was established in July 1970 at the Décor International exhibition in London.
Collaborative marketing among members in the UK was quickly followed by representation at overseas exhibitions with the BCFA appointed by the government to provide guidance and access to funding.
In time networking events grew to become an important part of the association's activities with the annual luncheon, now held at the Dorchester, the favourite place for the industry to entertain clients.
The services of the BCFA expanded to meet a variety of needs with members looking to the association for representation on government and regulatory bodies to help set the standards for the industry.
The core objective which remains today, is to enhance the commercial success of the membership.
By providing a support platform the BCFA allows businesses to take advantage of the ever changing global economy in ways they could not do alone.
