John Stark & Crickmay Partnership Architects, based in Dorset, specified Broadrib and Array carpet tiles from Heckmondwike FB as part of its own office refurbishment. The architect’s practice, which is based in a Grade II Georgian brick-built townhouse in Dorchester, selected carpet from Heckmondwike FB, due to the design opportunities offered by the range, as well as its durability and value for money. 72m2 of Heckmondwike Array Fibre Bonded carpet tiles was chosen in blue, which was complemented by 25m2of Broadrib in blue for the office refurbishment.

Daniel Cantrell, Architect at John Stark & Crickmay Partnership, said, “We were looking to brighten up the interior of our offices, creating a more contemporary feel. We liked the vibrant colours of Array and how it can be complemented by the Broadrib in blue. None of the walls in our building are straight, so we used circles in the accent colour to create a ‘splash’ of colour. A rectilinear feature would have accentuated the ‘wonkiness’ of the walls. The carpet fitters did an excellent job of accurately cutting the tiles and we are really pleased with the result, which has helped us to create an eyecatching design that accentuates our reception and meeting rooms.”

Array is the latest addition to Heckmondwike FB’s creative flooring range and is proving popular for both commercial and education environments. On this project, a stunning effect has been achieved by use of the Array tile with its striking blue surface pattern, which is used in conjunction with Broadrib in blue to create contrasting circles of colour throughout the public areas of the building. The carpet was installed by Tiling and Flooring Solutions of Dorchester, which used an innovative method of cutting the tiles to create the eyecatching circular effect.

Both ranges are popular with contractors as they can be cut on site without risk of fraying, which allows individual flooring designs to be created and installed with ease.

The Array tiles feature a mid-width rib design, with a charcoal background enhanced with a subtle linear pattern in either Red, Blue, Purple, Lime, Magenta or Black.

Broadrib has a wider rib structure than some other Fibre Bonded carpet products, creating a defined contrast in its texture. Available in 24 colour options, Broadrib is widely specified in public buildings, libraries, retail outlets and in the commercial sector.
