Challenge

Livingreen Design was asked to create 31 bespoke planting beds in sectional pieces for bolting together on site, creating low islands within the foyer of a corporate headquarters in Paris. To make the job that much harder, every planter featured a unique multi-curved profile, challenging the toolmakers to come up with a cost-effective solution.

Solution

Taking the interior designer's concept, Livingreen's designers created CAD engineering production drawings for each unit which were then made real using some ingenious temporary mouldings. The whole job was then handed over to the company's specialist finishing team for a high-shine paint finish in brilliant white. Finally, it was all hands on deck to get the units wrapped and loaded onto a dedicated artic for delivery in Paris 36 hours later.

Outcome

The job was delivered within the dedicated 36-hour window to Paris, and was unloaded and arranged within the foyer to the drawings that were created at the beginning of the process.

The client loves the outcome of the planters and is ecstatic with the physical realisation of the design.
