Fountains Direct was involved with the development and design of 3 water features for The Mind's Eye Garden at the 2014 RHS Chelsea Show.
The garden won a Gold Medal and Best Fresh Garden award.
This garden was created for the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) in partnership with Countryside. 'The mind’s eye' is known as the ability to create images or scenes without the need for sight. This garden is designed to stimulate the mind’s eye through a series of contrasting sensory experiences.
Designed as a sensory garden for blind and partially sighted people, as well as those with sight, the space challenges the fully sighted viewer by sometimes blurring or distorting the image we expect to see. The garden is divided into four zones: open woodland, damp and shady woodland, prairie border and arid border. Water acts as a unifying element to link and emphasise the architectural features. The centrepiece is a beautiful glass cube water feature.
