The walls and ceiling of a rustic sauna in South West London have been created using Kelo timber from Scandinavian pine trees, one of the most exclusive sauna timbers available.
The timber has a unique silvery grey hue and utilising the sawn edge of the wood enhances its natural appearance, while the aromatic pine scent will linger for many years.
‘Wane on’ timber was used for the corner features and décor trims.
The benches are made from medium heat treated Thermo Aspen with LED lights installed under the bench and behind the backrests.
The room is heated by a Tylo Expression 10 heater and controlled by a modern H1 touchscreen panel.
The steam room is finished in dark blue Bisazza mosaic tiles to the walls, benches and niche, with a constrasting white Kneipp hose to help the bather cool down. A chrome steam outlet with an integrated essence reservoir was also installed.
Both rooms are finished with frameless glass and chrome furniture. The shower room has a customised sliding frameless glass door.
The changing area has a timber seat and shelf to match the benching in the sauna room, with LED ceiling lights set into the Tadelakt finished ceiling.
