Context

Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, located close to Clondalkin in Dublin, opened in 1998. In February 2015, Liffey Valley announced that it was to begin a €26 million expansion of the shopping centre. This brought six new restaurants to the shopping centre, as well as expanding the Vue cinema and building a new Penneys which opened in December 2016.

In conjunction with this expansion the interior of the centre has undergone a major revamp which included the replacement of the furniture throughout the mall.

The management’s brief required a solution that would offer informal seating to cater for young and old alike, and would combine an element of planting. The solution could not obstruct the line of sight across the mall nor pedestrian movement throughout and it was important that aesthetically it reflected the contemporary theme present throughout.

Omos produced a number of seating and planter concepts in response to the brief and the combined bespoke seating with iroko slats and planter units were deemed to be aesthetically unique and attractive, while simultaneously answering the practical demands of the brief.

In addition to these bespoke pieces Omos provided new litter bins from the s45 range.
