Shrewsbury Town FC
Shropshire Council's Safety Advisory Group (SAG),
Following detailed talks and planning with the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) and Shropshire Council's Safety Advisory Group (SAG), Shrewsbury Town Football Club has installed Ferco’s RailSeat at the ground.
Bringing safe standing to professional football is pioneering for the Club. Chief Executive Officer Brian Caldwell, who has worked closely with Ferco and the supporters' parliament on the initiative, believes Shrewsbury is safe standing's 'flagship club'.
Ferco designed a stadium seating solution that included 433 x RailSeat 1 with a standard seat and back and 122 x RailSeat 2 with ARC Lite seats, all in the Club’s distinctive amber colour.
Ferco's RailSeats are incorporated within a robust metal frame. This high-strength rail acts as a protective barrier which makes pushing or falling physically impossible. It has been developed as a way to allow fans to stand safely at domestic club matches and be seated at international and European matches. The innovative slim-line seating has been approved for use in safe standing areas by both UEFA and FIFA and has been installed at football clubs all over Europe.
The design of the RailSeat allows stadium staff to easily lock or unlock the seat depending on the requirement while remaining tamperproof by those without a specialist key. Each model is robust, comfortable and purpose-designed for stadium use and has the standard 5-year Ferco guarantee.
The seats are virtually maintenance-free and as such have been used at a host of leading sporting venues worldwide.
