St James Priory
Fergusson Mann Architects
Bradley Basso designed and created a series of seven glass screens for St James Priory. This Romanesque church is the oldest building in Bristol and a site of extreme historic importance.
The work of the Priory focuses on caring for victims of substance abuse, helping them on the path to recovery and restoration. The abstract screens were based on the theme "Fragments of Lives" and feature coloured fragments and broken words that explore the human struggle towards wholeness.
A sequence of six related screens feature along the north aisle, leading to a final seventh arch screen at the east end of the church. The impactful screens serve to visually complement the simple granduer of the building.
