CPS Manufacturing Co worked with the University of Birmingham to deliver two flagship lecture and collaborative rooms as part of a new £24m teaching and learning campus.
The large, traditional lecture hall had 500 Type C9 lecture theatre seats installed.
The smaller, collaborative room had 250 seats installed with a combination of Inova turn and learn seats and Type C9 seats. This combination has been uniquely designed to maximise collaboration between students.
The two flat-floored rooms had tiered flooring systems installed in a mix of timber and steel.
The right specification of seating systems, desking, fabrics and lighting all played a major part in the decision-making and design process.
CPS Manufacturing Co worked through intricate levels of detail and specification with both the University and BDP Architects to ensure that the final results delivered were flagship spaces on campus.
This is one of the most striking educational-based projects that CPS has delivered in.
