Time to get personal!

When it comes to the decorative wiring accessories market, Hamilton has stood at the forefront for over 50 years. And our Bristol-based company is one of the last family-owned and run of its kind, still to be flying the flag for British manufacturing.

Having stood the test of time, we’ve become a trusted brand with architects, designers and the electrical trade alike - known for providing high-end, aesthetically pleasing, premium wiring accessories. But far from being ones to rest on our laurels, we’re constantly developing new solutions to meet the changing needs of your customer, as well as responding to the latest interior design trends.

One trend high on our radar - as we are sure it is on yours, is the growing demand for personalisation in all aspects of our lives – at home, in hotels and even in the workplace.

Introducing Hamilton Paintables!

While our colour-matched switch plates and sockets have been available for some time, increasing demand for this service has seen our Paintables department move to a much larger site at our Bristol HQ. This means our capacity for personalisation has more than doubled.

So whether you or your customer want your accessories to match, blend or contrast with a wallpaper accent, paint colour or a favourite soft furnishing, we can give you the ability to make every flick of a switch feel unique.

Safeguard against colour-blindness!

While we know many designers and architects love the Pantone colour referencing system, we recommend using RAL, British Standards or the Natural Colour System for a more accurate colour matching result.

This is because Pantone inks are specially formulated to work on paper, with very little white being used in the ink make-up because much of the lightening effect comes from the paper when it absorbs the ink. This makes replicating this in a powder coating form tricky to get right.

Using the RAL, British Standards or the Natural Colour System, the standards can be accurately reproduced during powder coating.

And with RAL having 1,625 options and the Natural Colour System having 1,950, you won’t be short on choice! In addition to the vast colour possibilities, Hamilton’s Paintables is available in gloss, matt, and even a metallic finish.

A cost-conscious screwless design

With clients keeping an ever tighter hold on the purse strings, we appreciate the extra pressure architects and designers are under to deliver a quality finish within the limitations of the budget.

Hamilton’s Hartland G2 was developed with this in mind. Launched two years ago, this screwless plate has been value engineered to provide a solution for contractors wanting a simpler push-to-fit plate, at a box-fix price. With the plate produced from pressed metal rather than cast, there is an overall cost saving without compromising on either the quality or finish – much to the delight of designers and architects far and wide.

The Hartland G2 is perfect for high use areas in hotels, offices, and homes, as once the back plate is wired, the front plate can be easily removed for a décor refresh. Once the wall is painted or papered, the plate simply pushes back into position.

Faultless functionality

Hartland G2 offers all the configurations you’d expect to see in the modern home, hotel or workplace environment, including the new six and nine Grid plate with pre-engraved 20A double pole switches, and EuroFix options.
