Leading bathroom manufacturer Ideal Standard expands its range of sustainable, design-led bathroom solutions with the introduction of two new shower trays: UltraFlat S+ and UltraFlat S i.life. Both collections stand out for their natural stone textured finish, extra-slim designs, and modern colour palette, making them the perfect choice for a wide variety of spaces.
The rimless UltraFlat S+ is a re-development of the popular UltraFlat S series, redesigned to offer a more sustainable and durable range of shower trays. This collection features a sleek and minimalist aesthetic, purposefully crafted to provide the shower area with the seamless appearance of a wet room. The trays are available in four modern finishes: pure white, concrete grey, sand and jet black with waste cover finishes to match, as well as traditional stainless steel. They can be easily and safely cut on all four sides to fit the available space, offering designers and architects greater creative freedom.
UltraFlat S i.life has been developed specifically to complement Ideal Standard’s i.life range of ceramics and furniture. However, thanks to its versatile design, it can be paired with a wide choice of other collections. The S i.life series features a subtle, low rim that doesn’t detract from its sophisticated aesthetic, but helps to clearly define the shower area within the bathroom. These trays also have a fully integrated waste, adding a stylish detail to the overall design, and they are available in the same colour palette as the S+ collection. If needed, the shower trays can be trimmed on the side opposite to the waste without impairing their beauty.
Sustainability was a top priority during the development of the new trays, designed in line with the four values of Ideal Standard’s EcoLogic approach: eco-friendly and durable materials, green manufacturing practices, minimal material usage for reduced impact, and sustainable packaging.
Both collections are crafted from Ideal Standard’s innovative IdealSolid®+ material, a combination of crushed dolomite rock and 30% recycled elastic resin, making them extremely durable, and scratch- and impact-resistant, extending their lifespan and also minimising their environmental footprint.
Manufactured with 100% green energy coming from renewable sources, the trays feature plastic-free packaging made from more sustainable materials, and at the end of their life can be easily recycled.
Additionally, the UltraFlat S+ trays are produced utilising a special double-mould process, requiring 25% less material compared to their predecessors. This reduction helps lower raw material extraction and energy consumption during production, optimise transport efficiency, and minimise emissions and waste generation. Despite the reduction in material, these trays still guarantee stability and strength for many years of use.
At only 30mm thick, UltraFlat S+ and S i.life shower trays can be fitted on top of or flush with a tiled floor, making it easier to enter and leave the shower, even for people with limited mobility. The trays feature a characteristic stone-textured surface which creates a comfortable and naturally warm underfoot experience while also minimising the risk of slipping. Their high particle density creates a sound-absorbing effect which reduces noise and improves living comfort, especially in multi-storey buildings.
In line with Ideal Standard’s SingularTM philosophy, these new trays can easily be combined with a wide range of collections, with finishes specifically chosen to work with different colour palettes, allowing customers more flexibility and creativity in the design of their bathroom.
