Camira has created a fabric of natural beauty with a mix of nature's renewables, hemp and wool blended together to create a fabric with unique performance, appearance and environmental properties.
Hemp is a rapidly growing bast fibre that's been used in a multitude of products for thousands of years. Camira has grown hemp as an agricultural crop under licence from the UK government on farms in Leicestershire. Blended with pure new wool and spun into a 60-40 wool hemp yarn it is then woven into a classic plain weave fabric with character. When piece-dyed, only the wool portion becomes coloured, bringing out the raw beauty of the natural hemp.
The palette of 31 colours is naturally inspired with a good mix of soft neutrals and earthy tones found in the colourful British farmland.
