California Pacific Medical Center's California Campus performs more than 4,600 CT scanner procedures each year. In 2014, Smith-Karng Architecture altered a traditional, sterile room to move the focus away from a large and rather intimidating scanner, and create a calmer, more healing environment for patients. California Pacific Medical Center's California Campus performs more than 4,600 CT scanner procedures each year. In the past, patients entered a traditional, sterile room where the focal point was a large and rather intimidating scanner.
In 2014 the room was re-designed with the goal of creating a more healing and calming environment for patients.
Custom imagery was an integral part of the design. To ensure a durable finish the artwork was incorporated in durable and cleanable Acrovyn by Design material, developed to offer a long-lasting surface finish in busy environments.
