Context

Soar at intu Braehead is a leisure destination jam-packed with fun. From the UK’s longest indoor real-snow ski slope, climbing wall, aerial assault course, adventure golf, Odeon cinema and superb restaurants, it attracts visitors from Renfrewshire, across Scotland and the North of England. This makes intu Braehead much more than just an incredible retail experience. It’s Scotland’s largest retail and leisure complex, and is also a complete day out destination in its own right.

Requirement

This leisure destination attracts upwards of 17 million people every year, so it is a challenge for maintenance teams to keep the centre clean and safe with that many people coming through the door.

CS was approached to provide an expansive entrance mat for the main entrance to the centre, covering 92m². CS’ Pediluxe entrance mat was chosen with Platinum coloured, exterior grade carpet inserts. These exterior grade carpet inserts offer a tougher bristle than the interior grade carpet inserts, ensuring dirt and moisture is removed more effectively from the soles of shoes. This large entrance mat should protect the interior floor surfaces, and maintenance budgets from foot and wheeled traffic, ensuring it is clean and moisture free.
